The Modern Millennial

Hi friends,

My name is Joel, and I'm the main writer for The Modern Millennial.  I've been a believer since I was 15, but for many years, I pursued the world for love and identity instead of pursuing God. I knew I needed Him, but I wasn't interested in following Him. By 2022, I thought I had it all figured out – a comfortable relationship, a sense of purpose. Life wasn't perfect, but I was content.  Then, in December of 2022, my world shattered. My relationship ended, and I was left broken and lost. My identity, built on external things, crumbled.

 

It was in this brokenness that God reached out to me.  He led me to an amazing church, where I found healing and community. This loving environment helped me begin to heal and experience God's transformative power.  In 2024, I'm still on this journey, growing and walking with the Lord. I'm not perfect, but thankfully, He doesn't require perfection. He simply desires my heart, and I've given it to Him.  Last summer, I started prioritizing time with God in the mornings. He began revealing profound lessons to me, and I felt a nudge to share them on Facebook. To my surprise, people responded deeply to these messages, finding encouragement and hearing God's voice through my words.

Around this time, God directed me to create a website where I could share these lessons with a wider audience. Facebook has some limitations, so a website would allow anyone, regardless of their social media presence, to access these writings. And so, The Modern Millennial was born.

No matter where you are on your journey with Christ, I pray this website will be a place of learning, encouragement, and deeper connection with Him.
